Regional Director

The Region Head provides strategic leadership and operational management to ensure that branches under their region achieve growth, financial targets, and operational excellence. The role focuses on planning, execution, staff development, and customer satisfaction to ensure the region's sustainability and alignment with organizational goals.
Key Responsibilities
1. Strategic Leadership and Planning
- Lead regional operations to ensure achievement of operational and financial targets.
- Develop and implement operational plans that align with organizational strategy.
- Identify opportunities for growth, including evaluating new branch locations.
- Prepare regional budgets and recommend cost optimization initiatives.
2. Business and Program Effectiveness
- Oversee implementation of regional strategies and operational plans.
- Monitor performance metrics (financial, operational, client retention).
- Supervise and coach district and area heads to drive performance.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, risk management, and operational standards.
3. Stakeholder and Relationship Management
- Foster positive relationships with clients, employees, and external partners.
- Promote the organization's brand and values within and beyond the region.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support regional initiatives.
4. Talent and Team Development
- Partner with HR and Talent Acquisition to ensure staffing needs are met.
- Develop succession plans and identify potential leaders for future roles.
- Promote open communication, collaboration, and a culture of continuous learning.
Qualifications
Education:
- Bachelor's degree in Business Management, Commerce, or a related field.
- Postgraduate studies are an advantage.
Experience:
- At least 5 years of managerial experience in operations, preferably in microfinance, banking, or financial services.
- Strong understanding of credit, risk management, and branch operations.
- Proven leadership, strategic planning, and people management skills.
Preferred Skills and Attributes:
- Analytical and results-oriented.
- Excellent communication and leadership skills.
- Ability to travel frequently for branch supervision.
- Adaptable and capable of managing change.
Work Conditions
- Combination of fieldwork and office-based responsibilities.
- Standard working hours with flexibility as operational needs require.
- Regular travel to branches and partner sites within the region.
