Job Description

The Third Officer on a merchant vessel typically handles a range of responsibilities related to safety, navigation, and cargo operations, often under the supervision of the Chief Officer and Master. This includes maintaining lifesaving and firefighting equipment, conducting safety drills, and assisting in cargo operations. They also stand navigational watches, participate in passage planning, and ensure compliance with international and local regulations.
