JOB TITLE: 6-Wheeler Truck Driver

DEPARTMENT: Logistics / Operations

REPORTS TO: Transport Supervisor / Logistics Manager

I. JOB SUMMARY

The 6-Wheeler Truck Driver is responsible for the safe and efficient operation of company vehicles for the transport and delivery of goods, materials, and equipment. The role ensures that deliveries are completed on time, in good condition, and in compliance with company and traffic regulations.II. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Vehicle Operation & Maintenance
  • Operate a 6-wheeler truck to transport goods, materials, or supplies to designated locations.
  • Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections to ensure roadworthiness and cleanliness of the vehicle.
  • Report any mechanical issues, accidents, or delays immediately to the supervisor.
  • Ensure proper loading and securing of cargo to prevent damage or spillage.
  • Delivery and Logistics
  • Follow assigned delivery schedules and routes efficiently.
  • Verify delivery documents such as waybills, invoices, and receipts.
  • Assist in loading and unloading of materials as required.
  • Maintain accurate trip logs and fuel consumption records.
  • Compliance and Safety
  • Observe all traffic laws, safety regulations, and company policies.
  • Maintain a valid driver's license and required permits.
  • Ensure that cargo is handled safely and that the vehicle is parked securely.
  • Other Duties
  • Perform minor vehicle maintenance when necessary.
  • Assist in warehouse or yard operations during non-driving hours.
  • Perform other related tasks as may be assigned.

III. QUALIFICATIONS

  • Education: At least High School Graduate or equivalent.
  • Experience: Minimum of 2 years of experience driving 6-wheeler trucks or similar heavy vehicles.
  • License: Must possess a valid Professional Driver's License (Restriction 2 and 3).
  • Skills:
  • Knowledge of basic vehicle troubleshooting and preventive maintenance.
  • Familiarity with delivery routes and road safety practices.
  • Strong sense of responsibility, punctuality, and discipline.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.

IV. WORKING CONDITIONS

  • May be required to work early mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
  • Field-based work with exposure to varying weather conditions.
