We are seeking an experienced and visionary
BIAN Business Architect
to lead and drive architecture strategy and solutioning in the core banking domain. The ideal candidate will have deep expertise in
BIAN (Banking Industry Architecture Network),
extensive experience in retail and corporate banking transformations, and the ability to bridge business strategy with technology execution. This role requires a strong understanding of enterprise architecture principles, regulatory requirements, data models, APIs, and event-driven architectures.

Job Responsibilities:

Enterprise Architecture Leadership

  • Define and lead the architecture strategy for the
    core banking transformation programs
    , aligned with business capabilities.
  • Lead the creation of
    cohesive views of business and technology capabilities
    to support strategic initiatives.
  • Drive
    target state architecture
    ,
    roadmaps
    , and
    modernization strategies
    (big bang, strangled approaches).
  • Ensure architectural alignment with industry standards (BIAN, TOGAF, etc.).

BIAN Framework & Implementation

  • Define
    BIAN-aligned service domains
    , capabilities, and business entity models.
  • Identify
    BQ (Behavior Qualifiers)
    ,
    CR (Control Records)
    , and establish bank entities aligned to BIAN components.
  • Create
    BIAN-aligned API contracts
    , workflows, and process definitions describing service domain interactions.
  • Represent the bank in
    BIAN global forums
    , provide feedback on framework gaps, and contribute to BIAN's evolution.
  • Map the bank's internal
    Business Object Model (BOM)
    to BIAN's model.

Technology Enablement & Transformation

  • Champion
    Event-Driven Architecture (EDA)
    and
    API-first designs
    for scalability and integration.
  • Define infrastructure and security patterns to support business and regulatory requirements.
  • Provide direction to technology teams for the implementation of service domain architectures and integrations.
  • Understand and assess
    new and emerging technologies
    for their applicability in banking transformation.

Stakeholder Engagement & Governance

  • Establish and maintain trusted relationships with
    business and IT stakeholders
    across the enterprise.
  • Provide strategic insights into
    industry trends
    , disruptions, and competitive threats.
  • Lead
    architecture governance forums
    , including solution reviews and strategic alignment discussions.
  • Support business case creation,
    effort estimations
    , and architectural input for multi-million dollar transformation deals.

Regulatory and Compliance

  • Ensure alignment with
    regulatory frameworks
    relevant to retail and corporate banking.
  • Map business capabilities and applications to ensure compliance with regulations and internal governance.

Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor's or Master's Degree
    in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field.
    BIAN Certification
    is
    highly preferred
    .
  • Over 8 years
    of experience in enterprise or solution architecture roles, ideally within banking or financial services.
  • Deep understanding of
    BIAN capability models
    , domains, and service definitions.
  • Experience in
    core banking transformation programs
    (retail and corporate).
  • Expertise in
    API and Event-driven architectures
    .
  • Strong
    stakeholder management
    and
    presentation skills
    .
  • Familiarity with
    Business Object Modeling (BOM)
    and data mapping.
  • Strong problem-solving, analytical, and proactive improvement mindset.
  • Ability to operate in both strategic and delivery-focused roles.
  • Experience in
    costing
    ,
    effort estimation
    , and
    pre-sales architecture support
    .
