Job Overview:

The Demand and Supply Manager is responsible for ensuring the efficient and cost-effective planning, forecasting, and management of product demand and supply across the organization. He/She should be able to lead the DSP team to achieve an end to end supply optimization by leveraging available resources including systems and applications and the entire pipeline inventory (Finished Goods, Packaging materials). This role involves coordinating between various departments, analyzing demand trends, and aligning supply chain activities to meet market needs while minimizing costs and improving service levels. The DSP Manager is a key player in the S&OP process. He/She is also responsible for overseeing the FDA and Importation functions.

Key Responsibilities:

Drive the S&OP process:

Active involvement in the various S&OP meetings. i.e., Product Review, Demand Review, Supply Review, Closing the gap and Management S&OP.

Demand Forecasting:

Develop accurate and timely demand forecasts for various product categories, using historical data, market trends, and sales inputs.

Work closely with sales, marketing, and finance teams to integrate promotional, seasonal, and market intelligence into demand forecasting models.

Use demand planning tools (e.g., SAP, Forecasting Applications or advanced Excel-based models) to predict customer requirements.

Supply Planning:

Plan, manage, and optimize product supply to ensure alignment with forecasted demand.

Monitor stock levels, production capacity, and supplier performance to meet demand while avoiding overstock or stockouts.

Coordinate with supplier, logistics, and procurement teams to ensure seamless product flow.

Inventory Management:

Oversee inventory levels across all locations, ensuring a balance between product availability and inventory cost efficiency.

Implement inventory optimization strategies to reduce excess stock while avoiding stockouts.

Analyze product life cycles, lead times, and reorder points to improve stock turn rates.

Collaboration and Stakeholder Management:

Work closely with sales, marketing, production, and finance departments to ensure a cohesive demand-supply strategy.

Facilitate communication between suppliers, manufacturers, and internal teams to ensure product availability and on-time delivery.

Negotiate with suppliers for lead times, order quantities, and prices to ensure cost-effective sourcing.

Performance Monitoring and Reporting:

Monitor and analyze KPIs (Key Performance Indicators) such as forecast accuracy, inventory turnover, service levels, and on-time delivery.

Prepare regular reports on demand and supply trends, stock levels, and potential risks to senior management.

Continuously improve forecasting and planning processes based on analysis of data and feedback.

Risk Management and Issue Resolution:

Proactively identify potential supply chain disruptions (e.g., shortages, production delays, transportation issues) and develop contingency plans.

Address demand and supply imbalances, resolving issues related to inventory discrepancies, stockouts, or excess stock.

Cost Optimization:

Collaborate with finance to monitor and control supply chain costs, focusing on reducing costs through efficient supply chain management, bulk ordering, and vendor negotiations.

Ensure cost-effective transportation and distribution processes.

Continuous Improvement:

Stay up to date with market trends, new technologies, and industry best practices to continuously improve demand and supply management practices.

Implement and promote a culture of continuous improvement within the supply chain team.

Qualifications:

Education:

Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Engineering preferably I.E, Business Administration, Logistics, or a related field.

A Master's degree (MBA or MSC) in Supply Chain or related discipline is a plus.

Experience:

1.At least 5 or more years of combined experience in

  • Demand and Supply planning,

  • Project Management in the area of DSP

  • Leadership role in one of the functions across Generating Demand or other Ensuring Supply areas of

  • Sales/Marketing

-Technical and Production

  • Customer Service

  • Demand and Supply Planning

  • Supply Chain Development

  • Purchasing

3.Have relevant exposure to FMCG companies

  1. Desirable to have had work on leadership position in a Lean organization, who has adapted LEAN concepts and tools as part of their ways of working
