Key Responsibilities:
Cold Storage Technician
A Cold Storage Technician is responsible for the installation, maintenance, and repair of refrigeration systems used in cold storage facilities. This role ensures temperature-sensitive products are preserved under optimal conditions.
- Install, operate, and maintain refrigeration systems in cold storage units.
- Perform routine inspections and preventive maintenance on HVAC and refrigeration equipment.
- Troubleshoot and repair refrigeration components (compressors, condensers, evaporators, etc.).
- Monitor temperature and humidity levels to ensure compliance with storage requirements.
- Maintain logs of maintenance and repair activities.
- Ensure systems meet safety and environmental regulations.
- Coordinate with facility managers to resolve technical issues.
- Respond promptly to system malfunctions or breakdowns.
Genset Operator
Responsible for operating, monitoring, and maintaining diesel generators to ensure continuous power supply during outages or as required.
- Start, operate, and shut down diesel generators as per operational requirements.
- Perform daily checks on fuel levels, oil levels, coolant, and battery.
- Conduct routine maintenance and minor repairs on gensets.
- Monitor voltage, frequency, and load readings, ensuring optimal performance.
- Record generator operating data in logbooks or electronic systems.
- Coordinate with electricians and facility managers regarding power needs.
- Ensure compliance with safety protocols and environmental regulations.
- Identify and report potential issues with the generator systems.
Qualifications:
- Diploma or ITI in Refrigeration, HVAC, or Mechanical Engineering.
- 2–3 years of hands-on experience in cold storage or refrigeration system maintenance.
- 1–3 years of experience operating and maintaining diesel generator sets (DG sets).
- Solid understanding of refrigerants such as R134a, R404A, R22, and Ammonia-based systems.
- Familiarity with both electrical and mechanical systems.
- Proficient in reading and interpreting technical drawings and equipment manuals.
- Hands-on experience with diesel engines and electrical systems.
- Basic troubleshooting and repair skills.
- Knowledge of DG set components, electrical load management, and safety protocols.
- Awareness of fuel management practices and emission control standards.
- Strong diagnostic and problem-solving abilities.
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
- Ability to perform effectively under pressure and in rotating shifts.
- Physically fit and able to work in cold storage environments.
