Network Engineer

We are seeking a skilled and proactive Network Engineer to join our Managed Network Services team in the Philippines. The candidate will be responsible for delivering network and security projects, providing hands-on expertise in network implementation, troubleshooting, and onsite support. This role requires strong technical proficiency in routing, switching, wireless networking and physical network cabling, with a focus on proactive problem-solving to ensure high-quality service delivery. The candidate will participate in a 24x7 on-call shift rotation for onsite support.

Key Responsibilities:

Network Operations and Support:

Provide hands-on onsite support for network installations, maintenance, and troubleshooting at client sites in the Philippines, primarily within (but not limited to) the Metro Manila area.

Participate in a 24x7 on-call rotation to provide rapid response to critical network incidents and ensure minimal downtime.

Project Delivery:

Execute network and security projects, including network installations, upgrades, and migrations for clients across various industries in the Philippines.

Configure and deploy network infrastructure, such as routers, switches, access points and firewalls, ensuring alignment with project requirements and client specifications.

Collaborate with project managers and other technical teams to ensure timely and successful project completion within scope and budget.

Troubleshooting and Problem Solving:

Diagnose and resolve network issues related to routing, switching, wifi, connectivity and physical topology, leveraging proactive problem-solving skills to prevent recurrence.

Perform root cause analysis (RCA) for incidents and implement corrective actions to enhance network reliability.

Documentation and Reporting:

Maintain accurate documentation of network configurations, project plans, and incident reports.

Provide regular updates to clients and internal teams on project progress and support activities.

Qualifications and Skills:

Experience:

3–5 years of relevant experience in network engineering, with a focus on network project delivery and support.

Hands-on experience in configuring and managing routing, switching, wifi and physical network cabling.

Technical Skills:

Well-versed in network troubleshooting tools and procedures to isolate root cause of issues

Proficiency in routing protocols (e.g., OSPF, BGP, RIP) and switching technologies (e.g., VLANs, STP, LACP).

Experience in managing and troubleshooting wireless network environments

Strong knowledge of physical network cabling standards (e.g., Cat6, fiber optics) and installation best practices.

Familiarity with deploying and managing firewalls (e,g, Palo Alto, Fortinet) is a strong advantage

Certifications (Preferred):

Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) or equivalent.

CompTIA Network+, ITIL Foundation, or other relevant certifications are a plus.

Soft Skills:

Proactive problem-solving and analytical skills to address complex network challenges.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for client interactions and team collaboration.

Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Availability:

Willingness to participate in a 24x7 on-call shift rotation to provide onsite support as needed across the Philippines.

Flexibility to travel to client sites for project deployments and support activities.
