The Chief Actuary leads the end-to-end actuarial function for the Company's life portfolio, providing

technical authority on pricing, and risk oversight. The role ensures statutory and required

compliances, and offers forward-looking insights to support sustainable growth and shareholder

value. Success hinges on balancing rigorous actuarial discipline with commercial acumen and

people leadership

KEY RESPONSIBILITY:

1. Pricing Leadership

  • Design and approve pricing bases, profit test, and reinsurance structures
  • Partner with Products to launch innovative, customer-centric solutions.

2. Valuation and Financial Reporting

  • Oversee quarterly and annual IFRS 17 valuations, embedded value and experience investigations
  • Sign-off actuarial components of financial statements and regulatory returns.

3. Actuarial Governance

  • Maintain actuarial policies and professional standards and model valuation
  • Interface with regulators and external auditors

4. Leadership and Talent Development

  • Build and mentor a high-performing actuarial team; foster a learning culture and succession pipeline
  • Champion actuarial automation, analytics, and data science adoption

5. Strategic Insight

  • Translate complex actuarial outcomes into business language for ExCo and Board decisions
  • Provide forward-looking scenario analyses to support portfolio optimization and strategic planning

6. Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Collaborating with other departments, group and the conglomerate

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Professional Status : Fellow recognized by the regulator (IC) for accreditation
  • Experience : Minimum of 10 years in life insurance actuarial work, with at least 5 years of leadership or appointed actuary capacity
  • Technical Expertise : Advanced knowledge of life insurance products, reinsurance, and embedded value/IFRS 17 frameworks / Proficiency with actuarial modelling platforms and data analytics tools
  • Regulatory Insight : deep understanding of local solvency regulations and governance requirements
  • Commercial Acumen : proven track record translating actuarial insight into profitable growth strategies
  • Leadership Skills : strong stakeholder management, communication, and team-building capabilities; able to influence C-suite and the Board
