Mainframe Tester

The Role

Artech Technology Inc. is seeking a talented Mainframe Tester to join our dynamic team on a contract basis. As a Mainframe Tester, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the quality and reliability of our mission-critical mainframe applications. Operating in the Metro Manila area, you will work closely with our development and IT teams to design, execute, and document comprehensive test plans and strategies.

Key Responsibilities

1. Design and implement effective test cases to validate the functionality, performance, and integration of mainframe applications
2. Collaborate with development teams to understand application requirements and identify potential areas of risk
3. Develop and maintain comprehensive test plans, scripts, and documentation
4. Execute test cases, analyse results, and report defects to the appropriate stakeholders
5. Assist in the implementation of automated testing frameworks to improve efficiency and coverage
6. Stay up-to-date with the latest testing methodologies and technologies to continuously improve our testing practices

What We're Looking For

1. Minimum of 3 years of experience in software testing, with a strong focus on mainframe technologies
2. Proficient in creating and executing test plans, scripts, and automation frameworks
3. Excellent understanding of mainframe architecture, workflows, and application components
4. Familiarity with mainframe testing tools and environments, such as ISPF, IBM z/OS, and IBM Rational Test Workbench
5. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify and troubleshoot complex issues
6. Effective communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with cross-functional teams
7. Adaptability and a keen interest in staying up-to-date with the latest testing methodologies and technologies
