QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering - ideally Mechanical, Electrical, Mechatronics or Industrial Engineering
  • At least 2-4 years experience in roles combining design engineering + sales/technical support (or design engineering with client interfacing)
  • Prior experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment, preferably in motor, gear, actuator, pump or related mechanical components
  • Experience in preparing technical proposals and presentations for customers; ability to liaise with both internal teams (engineering, production, QC) and external clients
  • Experience managing multiple projects/orders at different stages (e.g. design, costing, sample, production) simultaneously

TECHNICAL SKILLS & KNOWLEDGE

  • Proficiency in CAD software (e.g. Solidworks, AutoCAD) for designing, modeling and modifying components (motors, gears, linear motion units, etc.)
  • Understanding of motor systems, speed reducers, gearboxes, linear actuators, gear pumps, etc., because TEPI designs and manufacturers these
  • Capability in preparing technical drawings and translating client/engineering specifications into manufacturable designs.
  • Ability to perform cost estimation, BOM (Bill of Materials) creation, quotation calculations (materials, labor, shipping) in coordination with production/procurement
  • Familiarity with relevant standards/tolerances/materials used in motor/geared products
  • Basic understanding of manufacturing processes: stamping, molding, sub-assembly, etc., because TEPI also produces stamping and molding parts
  • Knowledge of quality management systems/safety/environmental protocols, given the ISO certifications of the company

SKILLS

  • Strong communication skills - able to explain technical designs clearly to customers, sales teams and manufacturing personnel
  • Multilingual proficiency (English/Japanese) could help, especially for local and overseas customers
  • Good problem solving/analytical thinking - able to understand client needs, purpose modifications or alternatives to meet requirements, cost constraints, etc.
  • Customer-oriented mindset; good negotiation skills; ability to build trust and maintain relationships
  • Attention to detail - accuracy in drawings, quotations, specifications
  • Time management - meeting deadlines, delivering multiple deliverables (quotations, designs, revisions) timely
  • Flexibility and adaptability - willing to revise designs, respond to feedback , sometimes under pressure or tight schedules
  • Ability or willingness to travel (if needed) to customer sites or for product installation/support (if TEPI does field work)
