Qualifications:
Vocational/Technical Course or College Level in Electronics, Electrical, IT, or related field.
Certification or training in Fiber Optic Splicing and Testing (preferred).
Knowledge of OSP standards, NAP layouts, and Globe splicing requirements.
Physically fit and willing to work in field deployment conditions (poles, manholes, confined spaces, etc.).
Good communication and reporting skills.
Work Experience
2–3 years of experience in fiber optic splicing, preferably in telco projects.
Proven experience with fusion splicing, OTDR testing, and fiber termination.
Prior exposure to Globe Telecom, PLDT, Converge, DITO, or similar telco projects is an advantage.
Experience in NAP activation, augmentation, and OSP rehabilitation is highly preferred.
Hands-on involvement in field troubleshooting and restoration works.
Familiarity with cell tower access protocols (e-lock handling, site entry procedures) is a plus.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Perform fusion splicing of fiber optic cables (single-mode and multi-mode) in accordance with Globe standards.
Conduct fiber testing and troubleshooting using OTDR, power meter, and light source to ensure splice quality.
Prepare and install splice closures, fiber distribution panels, and patch panels.
Ensure proper fiber cable routing, termination, and protection during installation and augmentation works.
Execute NAP (Network Access Point) activation, augmentation, and rehabilitation activities as required by the project.
Read, interpret, and implement OSP design plans, splicing plans, and as-built documentation.
Document splicing activities, test results, and update project reports for submission to the project coordinator/engineer.
