Key Responsibilities
  • Cost Optimization & Management: Monitor GCP consumption, identify waste, and implement automated cost-saving measures (e.g., rightsizing, committed use discounts, and preemptible VMs).
  • Strategy & KPIs: Proactively suggest and implement structural improvements to meet or exceed monthly and annual cost-saving targets.
  • Reporting & Governance: Establish granular visibility into cloud spending. Create dashboards and reports that provide actionable insights to stakeholders at all levels.
  • Architectural Advisory: Collaborate with engineering teams to ensure new and existing projects are built with "cost-as-a-code" principles using Enterprise Architecture best practices.
  • Culture Building: Evangelize FinOps practices across the organization, helping teams understand the fiscal impact of their architectural decisions.
Required Skills & Qualifications
  • Experience: 5+ years of experience in Cloud Financial Management, Cloud Engineering, or IT Business Management.
  • Technical Expertise: Deep hands-on experience with Google Cloud Platform (GCP) services and billing tools.
  • Certification: Specialized FinOps Certification (e.g., FinOps Certified Practitioner or Professional) is highly preferred.
  • Strategic Thinking: Strong background in Enterprise Architecture; ability to see how technical configurations impact the bottom line.
  • Analytical Rigor: Proficiency in SQL, BigQuery, or data visualization tools (like Looker) to analyze complex billing datasets.
  • Communication: Ability to translate technical cloud concepts into financial impact for non-technical executives.
