Refuel Creative is looking for its new remote Senior E-commerce Web Developer specializing in Shopify and WordPress platforms.

Refuel Creative is a leading digital marketing agency based in South Australia that manages an array of clients, ranging from ambitious nonprofits, high-growth startups, top-tier e-commerce, boutique tourism brands, and more.

Should you be hired, we expect our Senior E-commerce Web Developer (Shopify & WordPress Specialist) to:

• Develop and maintain e-commerce websites using Shopify and WordPress platforms
• Customize themes and implement new features to meet client requirements
• Integrate third-party services and APIs to enhance website functionality
• Optimize website performance and ensure security best practices are followed
• Collaborate with design and content teams to create seamless user experiences
• Stay updated on the latest e-commerce trends and platform updates

We expect our Senior E-commerce Web Developer (Shopify & WordPress Specialist) to have the following qualifications, skills and experiences:

Programming Languages and Frameworks

• Proficient in HTML/CSS for creating clean, structured, and responsive web interfaces
• Strong JavaScript skills for implementing interactive and dynamic features
• Expert in PHP, particularly for WordPress development, including custom page templates and AJAX functions

Platform-Specific Knowledge

• Mastery of Liquid, Shopify's templating language, for theme customization
• In-depth understanding of Shopify API and platform capabilities
• Extensive experience in WordPress development, including custom themes and plugins

E-commerce Specific Skills

• Proficiency in integrating various payment gateways and shipping providers
• Familiarity with WooCommerce for WordPress e-commerce functionality

Development Tools and Practices

• Proficient in Git for version control and collaboration
• Experienced in third-party API integrations
• Skilled in creating responsive designs for various devices

Soft Skills and Knowledge

• Strong analytical and creative problem-solving abilities
• Excellent communication skills for client interactions and team collaboration

The successful candidate will be hired as an independent contractor of Refuel Creative, a digital marketing firm based in South Australia. As an independent contractor, you will be entitled to locally competitive remuneration. However, as an independent contractor, you will be responsible for managing your own independent government dues, such as taxes, mandated benefits, etc.
