We are currently seeking a detail-oriented, reliable, and professional Bookkeeper/Receptionist to join our team. In this role, you will split your time between maintaining accurate financial records and providing administrative and front-line support to the company. This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys a balance between accounting tasks and client-facing duties in a dynamic and supportive environment.
Key Responsibilities:Bookkeeping Responsibilities:
Manage and maintain accurate financial records, including ledgers, accounts payable/receivable, and bank reconciliations.
Prepare and post journal entries for various transactions.
Process and monitor invoices, payments, and payroll.
Assist in the preparation of financial reports and statements, ensuring compliance with Canadian accounting standards.
Review financial transactions for accuracy and resolve discrepancies.
Prepare and file HST/GST returns and other required tax filings.
Assist with month-end and year-end closing procedures.
Collaborate with external accountants and auditors to ensure proper financial reporting and compliance.
Support budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis activities.
Analyze tax documents and other financial paperwork to ensure compliance with tax laws.
Reception/Administrative Responsibilities:
Answer and route incoming calls and emails professionally and promptly.
Greet and assist clients virtually, ensuring a positive experience.
Manage scheduling, appointment reminders, and calendar updates for leadership.
Organize and maintain digital filing systems for both financial and administrative documents.
Support general office administration duties, including handling correspondence and internal communications.
Assist with special projects and provide administrative support to different departments as needed.
Proven experience as a Bookkeeper, Receptionist, or in a similar accounting/administrative role.
Strong knowledge of Canadian accounting principles, tax regulations, and compliance requirements.
Proficiency with accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Sage, Xero) and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word).
Excellent attention to detail, organizational skills, and time management.
Professional communication skills, both verbal and written.
Friendly and customer-focused demeanor with the ability to interact effectively with clients and team members.
Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive financial and personal information.
Experience with payroll and HST/GST filings is a plus.
Fully remote work.
