Position Summary

The Facilities Management Officer is responsible for the effective maintenance, safety, and functionality of all school facilities. The role ensures that classrooms, laboratories, workshops, and common areas are well-maintained, compliant with safety standards, and conducive to a productive learning environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee the day-to-day maintenance and upkeep of school or institutional facilities, ensuring all areas are safe, clean, and operational.
  • Plan, coordinate, and supervise repair works, renovations, and facility improvement projects.
  • Coordinate with external contractors, vendors, and service providers for maintenance, repairs, and specialized services.
  • Implement preventive maintenance programs to minimize disruptions and extend the lifespan of facilities and equipment.
  • Ensure compliance with safety regulations, health standards, and facility management best practices.
  • Identify and resolve facility-related issues promptly through effective problem-solving and coordination.
  • Maintain accurate documentation and reports related to maintenance activities, repairs, and service contracts.

Qualifications

  • Proven experience in facilities management, preferably in a school or institutional setting.
  • Strong organizational, coordination, and problem-solving skills.
  • Knowledge of safety standards, preventive maintenance, and facility management best practices.
  • Ability to effectively manage contractors and multiple maintenance projects simultaneously.
