About the role

This is a full-time Agriculturist position with Southern Arms Corporation', based in Malaybalay City, Bukidnon. As an Agriculturist, you will play a key role in supporting the company's horticulture operations, ensuring the efficient and sustainable cultivation of crops. Your expertise will be crucial in driving the company's agricultural initiatives and contributing to its overall success.

What you'll be doing

  1. Oversee the day-to-day operations of the company's agricultural assets, including farms and plantations
  2. Develop and implement effective cultivation strategies to maximise crop yields and quality
  3. Conduct soil analysis, manage irrigation systems, and monitor plant health to optimise growing conditions
  4. Collaborate with the agronomy team to research and introduce new, innovative farming techniques
  5. Provide expert advice and guidance to the operations team on all aspects of crop cultivation
  6. Ensure compliance with relevant agricultural regulations and industry best practices
  7. Monitor and report on key performance indicators to support the company's strategic decision-making

What we're looking for

  1. Bachelor's degree in Agriculture, Horticulture, or a related field
  2. Minimum 5 years of experience as an Agriculturist or in a similar role within the horticulture industry
  3. Proven track record of implementing successful crop cultivation strategies and improving agricultural productivity
  4. Strong understanding of soil science, pest management, and sustainable farming practices
  5. Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills to identify and address complex agricultural challenges
  6. Effective communication and collaboration skills to work closely with cross-functional teams
  7. Commitment to continuous learning and staying up-to-date with industry trends and innovations
