About the role

The Reverse Osmosis Operator is responsible for the efficient and safe operation, monitoring, and maintenance of Reverse Osmosis water treatment plants and associated equipment. This role ensures the continuous production of high-quality water that meets established standards and regulatory requirements. The operator performs routine checks, conducts water quality tests, troubleshoots issues, and carries out preventive maintenance to optimize system performance and minimize downtime.

What you'll be doing

  1. Operate and monitor RO plant equipment, including pumps, valves, filters, membranes, chemical dosing systems, and control panels.
  2. Adjust system parameters such as flow rates, pressures, and chemical dosages to maintain optimal performance and water quality.
  3. Conduct regular inspections of the RO plant and related equipment to detect malfunctions, leaks, and potential issues.
  4. Respond to alarms and emergency situations promptly, implementing appropriate corrective actions.
  5. Collect water samples at various stages of the RO process (raw water, pre-treated water, permeate, concentrate).
  6. Interpret test results and make necessary adjustments to the RO system to ensure compliance with established water quality standards and regulatory requirements.
  7. Perform routine preventive maintenance on RO equipment, including cleaning, calibrations, and minor repairs.
  8. Identify and troubleshoot operational issues, equipment malfunctions, and process abnormalities within the RO system.
  9. Collaborate with maintenance technicians or engineers for complex technical problems or major repairs.
  10. Assist in the planning and execution of system upgrades, changes, or expansions.
  11. Maintain accurate and detailed records of plant operations, including daily logs, meter readings, test results, chemical usage, maintenance activities, and incidents.
  12. Prepare operational reports, compliance documentation, and inventory reports.
  13. Adhere to all safety guidelines, protocols, and regulations.
  14. Ensure compliance with environmental regulations and industry standards related to water treatment.
  15. Participate in safety drills and training programs.
  16. Communicate effectively with other operators, supervisors, maintenance staff, and other departments.

What we're looking for

  1. Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science or equivalent
  2. Proficient understanding of reverse osmosis principles, system components, and troubleshooting techniques
  3. Ability to analyze water quality test results, diagnose operational issues (like membrane fouling) and timely corrective action.
  4. Strong problem-solving and analytical skills to identify and resolve technical issues
  5. Excellent attention to detail and record-keeping abilities
  6. Ability to work both independently and as part of a team to achieve shared goals
  7. Commitment to safety and environmental regulations
  8. Willing to work in shifting schedule
