Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct physical and engineering tests on materials like concrete, soil, and steel to verify their strength, quality, and compliance with standards.
  • Monitor the quality and quantity of materials delivered to the project site, ensuring they meet specifications and are accounted for properly.
  • Advise on the best materials for a project based on their properties, cost, and project timelines.
  • Prepare design mixes for concrete and bituminous materials to ensure proper performance and durability.
  • Manage and maintain on-site or field laboratories, including their equipment and records.
  • Maintain accurate records of material testing, inventory, and project progress, submitting timely reports.
  • Ensure all materials adhere to relevant standards and regulations, such as those set by the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH).
  • Work closely with project engineers, architects, and contractors to address any material-related issues or challenges.

Essential Skills:

  • Proficiency in materials science, civil engineering, and testing procedures.
  • Ability to analyze failures, identify root causes, and develop effective solutions for material-related problems.
  • Meticulous in record-keeping, testing, and ensuring compliance with standards.
  • Ability to lead and work effectively with a project team to achieve project goals.
  • Clearly convey technical information and findings to project stakeholders.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, or a related field.
  • Accredited Materials Engineer with the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH).
  • A strong background in materials testing, research, development, and quality control within construction projects is essential.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, excellent communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: From Php50,000.00 per month
