Role Overview:

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented
DataOps Engineer
to join our team. The DataOps Engineer will be responsible for monitoring and supporting data pipelines, ensuring data quality, and maintaining accurate documentation. The ideal candidate will have experience with data pipeline tools, scheduling systems, and operational support in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities:

Pipeline Monitoring and Support:

  • Provide L1 support for data pipeline alerts on Slack channels.
  • Escalate and provide L2 support when required.
  • Manage pipelines using Airflow across multiple environments

Email Monitoring and Data Quality Checks

  • Check Premarket emails before the Stock Exchange Opens
  • Verify Core Data Quality Reports for various regions (AS, EU, NA) and escalate warnings.

Calendar Management:

  • Perform weekly calendar checks and sync updates every Thursday.
  • Maintain personal and shared files for holiday and calendar updates.

Documentation and Reporting:

  • Maintain DataOps SOPs, incident reports, task schedules, and SLAs.
  • Escalate missing/late files through appropriate channels.

Required Skills and Technologies:

Technical Skills:

  • Proficiency with Apache Airflow for workflow orchestration.
  • Experience with scheduling tools like Dolphin Scheduler.
  • Strong understanding of data quality checks and operational monitoring.
  • Familiarity with Slack for communication and alerts management.

Soft Skills:

  • Excellent attention to detail and time management.
  • Strong communication skills for reporting and escalation.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Sense of Urgency and Ownership is also a must since we are dealing with real time productions issues

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in a DataOps or similar operational support role.
  • Familiarity with financial market data (Stock Exchanges, Equities, Futures etc.,)
  • Knowledge of scripting languages (Python, Bash) for automation.

Work Schedule:

  • Flexible Shift Availability
    : Must be able to work any shift in a 24/7 environment, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as required.
  • Shift Rotation
    : Shifts may rotate on a weekly or monthly basis, ensuring coverage at all times.
  • Overtime/On-Call
    : Availability for overtime and on-call work may be required based on business needs.
