Job Qualification

• High School Diploma/Equivalent: A foundational requirement for most positions.
• Electrician Training & Experience: Completion of an electrician training program and several years (often 5+) of hands-on experience in electrical installation and wiring are critical.
• Apprenticeship/Certification: Many employers look for candidates to have completed an apprenticeship and obtained a Journeyman or Master Electrician license or certification.
• Electrical Systems: Deep understanding of electrical systems, including power generation, maintenance, and repair.
• Blueprint Reading: The ability to accurately interpret electrical wiring diagrams and schematics.
• Codes and Standards: Strong working knowledge of electrical codes and regulations, such as those set by OSHA.
• Tools & Equipment: Familiarity with electrician-specific tools, equipment, and installation methods.

Key Responsibility

• Supervision: Oversee and coordinate the daily activities of electricians and other trades helpers.
• Project Execution: Lead the practical execution of projects, ensuring electrical systems and fixtures are installed correctly according to plans and specifications.
• Safety: Enforce strict adherence to safety protocols and standards on the worksite.
• Planning & Scheduling: Plan and schedule electrical work, manage workloads, and ensure materials are available.
• Troubleshooting: Diagnose and resolve complex electrical problems and issues.
• Quality Control: Monitor the quality of work to meet project standards and correct any deficiencies.
• Material Management: Order and maintain electrical parts and equipment.
• Training: Train and mentor junior electricians on job skills and safety procedures.
