About the Role

Compare Club Australia Pty Ltd. is seeking an experienced and results-driven Senior IT DevOps Engineer to design, manage, and enhance our infrastructure, security, and DevOps practices. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys automation, scalability, and working with cross-functional teams to deliver seamless software experiences. As a key contributor in our IT department, you will be responsible for developing and maintaining the tools and processes that enable rapid and reliable software releases. You will work alongside developers and other IT professionals to ensure that all systems meet business and performance needs. The successful candidate will have hands-on experience with cloud services, CI/CD pipelines, infrastructure-as-code tools, and a strong security mindset.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and implement secure, scalable infrastructure on AWS and/or GCP.
  • Develop and maintain robust CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions, CodePipeline, and related tools.
  • Monitor and maintain system performance, reliability, and security compliance.
  • Remediate infrastructure issues, performance bottlenecks, and vulnerabilities.
  • Ensure alignment with compliance standards including ISO 27001:2022 and PCI DSS 4.0.
  • Lead the automation of repetitive processes to improve efficiency.
  • Document infrastructure and security configurations and processes clearly.
  • Collaborate with IT, development, and security teams to support business initiatives.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent.
  • 3+ years of experience in DevOps or IT infrastructure roles.
  • Proficient in cloud technologies, particularly AWS (EKS, ECS, VPC, WAF, etc.).
  • Experience managing Apigee and AWS API Gateways.
  • Strong scripting skills (Python, Bash, PowerShell).
  • Familiarity with Serverless Framework, Terraform, and CloudFormation.
  • Knowledge of monitoring tools like CloudWatch, Prometheus, New Relic, and Grafana.
