Job Role Description

We are seeking a dedicated and highly competent Respiratory Therapist Staff to join our Pulmonary Department. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing a full range of diagnostic and therapeutic respiratory care procedures to patients, ensuring the highest standards of quality, safety, and efficiency. This role involves both direct patient treatment and the maintenance of departmental operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Patient Care & Treatment: Administer prescribed therapeutic procedures such as Aerosol Therapy/Nebulization, Chest Physiotherapy (CPT), Incentive Spirometry (IS), and Breathing Exercises, strictly adhering to physician orders and established protocols.
  • Diagnostic Procedures: Perform specialized Cardio-Pulmonary diagnostic tests including, but not limited to, Pulmonary Function Test (PFT), Arterial Blood Gas (ABG) sampling/analysis, and Peak Flow measurement.
  • Quality & Compliance: Maintain good quality control of examinations performed, ensuring the precision and accuracy of methods utilized. Strictly comply with all hospital and department protocols, policies, and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
  • Documentation & Reporting: Accurately receive, label, organize, and dispatch results of diagnostic procedures. Prepare and maintain comprehensive records, files, stock cards, sales, issuances, and logbooks as directed. Prepare and submit required reports and memoranda.
  • Equipment & Inventory Management: Directly responsible for the proper usage and maintenance of all equipment. Conduct regular inventory, assure the proper condition of storing, securing, and accounting for stock, and ensure the use of stock before expiration.
  • Departmental Operations: Ensure the orderly flow of patients and maintain the cleanliness and orderliness of the department at all times.
  • Teamwork & Professionalism: Establish and maintain effective and courteous working relationships with co-workers, supervisors, patients, and the general public. Maintain consistent professional attendance, punctuality, and personal appearance.
  • Continuous Improvement: Participate actively in staff meetings, seminars, and training, and assist in the establishment and implementation of departmental policies and procedures.

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements:

  • Education: Must be a graduate of a Bachelor of Science in Respiratory Therapy.
  • License: Must possess a valid and current Professional Regulatory Commission (PRC) License as a Respiratory Therapist.
  • Professional Membership: Must be a bona fide member of the Association of Respiratory Care Practitioners in the Philippines, Inc. (ARCP).

Skills and Competencies:

  • Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills for effective patient instruction, documentation, and coordination.
  • Technical Proficiency: Computer literate, with proficiency in MS Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Work Ethic: Highly responsible and committed to work, with a strong-willed, organized, and keen-to-details approach.
  • Independence & Flexibility: Flexible, trainable, and independent, with the ability to perform multi-tasking jobs and work effectively with minimum supervision.
  • Interpersonal: Can handle people effectively and possesses good leadership skills.
