Job Title: Route Planner

Overview

The Route Planner is responsible for developing, optimizing, and coordinating transportation routes to ensure efficient and cost-effective delivery of goods and services. This role requires strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills to manage logistics operations and support the company's delivery performance objectives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan and optimize delivery routes for drivers to ensure timely and cost-efficient deliveries.

  • Analyze traffic patterns, delivery schedules, and resource availability to minimize travel time and costs.

  • Use route planning software and GPS tracking tools to monitor and adjust routes as needed.

  • Coordinate with warehouse, dispatch, and logistics teams to manage delivery schedules.

  • Identify and resolve routing issues such as delays, vehicle breakdowns, or customer rescheduling.

  • Monitor delivery performance and recommend process improvements.

  • Maintain accurate records of routes, delivery times, and driver activities.

  • Ensure compliance with transportation regulations and company policies.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Transportation, or a related field (preferred).

  • Proven experience in route planning, dispatch, or logistics coordination.

  • Proficiency with route optimization software (e.g., Roadnet, Route4Me, Google Maps, Waze).

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

  • Excellent communication and coordination abilities.

  • Attention to detail and ability to work under time constraints.

  • Familiarity with fleet management and GPS tracking systems is a plus.
