The Manpower Scheduler is responsible for preparing, organizing, and monitoring the work schedules of waiters and other service staff to ensure smooth and efficient operations during catering events. This role ensures proper manpower allocation, staff availability tracking, and coordination with the Operations and HR teams to meet event requirements and uphold service excellence.

Key Duties & Responsibilities

  • Prepare and update daily/weekly/monthly schedules of waiters and service staff based on event bookings.
  • Coordinate with the Operations Manager to determine manpower requirements per event.
  • Monitor staff attendance, tardiness, and absences; adjust schedules when necessary.
  • Maintain an updated database of available staff (regular, on-call, relievers).
  • Ensure compliance with labor standards and company policies regarding staff scheduling and hours of work.
  • Communicate schedules clearly and promptly to all concerned staff.
  • Assist in resolving scheduling conflicts and manpower shortages.
  • Submit manpower schedule reports to the Operations and to the EXECOM

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Hospitality Management, Business Administration, HR, or related field (preferred but not required).
  • At least 1 year of experience in scheduling, workforce planning, or operations (hospitality/catering industry experience is an advantage).
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Proficient in MS Excel, Google Sheets, or workforce scheduling software.
  • Good communication and coordination skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure and handle multiple events at once.
  • Detail-oriented, reliable, and with integrity.

Job Type: Fixed term

Contract length: 4 months
