Bartender/Waiter

Preparing and serving both alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks, taking customer orders, handling payments, and maintaining the bar's cleanliness and inventory. Key responsibilities also involve checking identification to prevent underage drinking, monitoring customers for intoxication, and ensuring a positive and welcoming guest experience. Bartenders must adhere to liquor laws, manage supplies, and often engage in customer interaction, making recommendations and resolving issues.

Core Duties

• Beverage Preparation:Mix and serve a wide range of alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks, following recipes and presentation standards.
• Customer Service:Greet guests, take orders accurately, offer recommendations, and ensure customer satisfaction.
• Sales & Payments:Process cash, credit, and debit transactions, manage tabs, and handle tips.
• Cleanliness:Maintain a clean and organized bar area by washing glassware and utensils, wiping surfaces, and sanitizing equipment.

Legal and Safety Responsibilities

• Age Verification:Check customer identification to confirm they are of legal drinking age and refuse service to those who are not.
• Intoxication Monitoring:Observe patrons for signs of intoxication and refuse service to prevent over-serving, arranging for safe transportation when necessary.
• Regulatory Compliance:Adhere to all local, state, and national laws regarding the sale and consumption of alcohol.

Operational and Maintenance Tasks

• Inventory Management:Monitor stock levels, restock liquor, mixers, garnishes, and other supplies, and place orders for new stock.
• Bar Preparation:Set up the bar before opening, preparing garnishes, ice, and other necessities.
• Staff Collaboration:Communicate effectively with other staff members, potentially assisting with training new hires and collaborating on menu development.
• Customer Engagement:Create a welcoming atmosphere, engage with customers, and build rapport with regulars.
