Job Description
The Tool Keeper is responsible for the safekeeping, issuance, monitoring, and maintenance of all company-owned tools, equipment, and related workshop assets. This role ensures that all tools are properly accounted for, maintained in good condition, and readily available for use by mechanics and technicians to support the efficient operations of the service workshop. The Tool Keeper also maintains accurate inventory records, coordinates repairs or calibration of tools when necessary, and enforces proper handling and safety procedures.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain an organized and secure tool storage system, ensuring all tools are properly labeled and stored.
- Issue tools, equipment, and workshop materials to mechanics/technicians, ensuring proper documentation of withdrawals and returns.
- Inspect tools and equipment regularly for damage, wear, or loss, and coordinate repair or replacement when necessary.
- Conduct regular inventory counts and maintain updated records in both manual logs and digital systems.
- Implement and monitor tool accountability policies to prevent loss, misuse, or damage.
- Provide technical support in identifying and recommending required tools for new vehicles or updated repair procedures.
- Prepare reports on tool usage, inventory status, shortages, and replenishment needs.
- Assist in receiving, checking, and tagging newly purchased tools and workshop equipment.
- Coordinate with the Warehouseman and Service Manager for proper supply chain and workshop support.
- Uphold cleanliness, safety, and orderliness in the tool room and surrounding work areas.
- Drive company vehicles when necessary for pick-up/delivery of tools, equipment, or parts.
- Comply with company policies, safety standards, and service quality requirements.
Qualifications
- At least 2–3 years of work experience as a Warehouseman, Automotive Mechanic, or Technician.
- Familiar with automotive tools, equipment, and spare parts.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, Outlook) for tracking and reporting.
- Knowledge in basic inventory management or asset-tracking systems is an advantage.
- Must know how to drive with a valid driver's license (Professional or Non-Professional).
- Physically fit, with ability to lift moderately heavy tools and equipment.
- Strong sense of responsibility, trustworthiness, and attention to detail.
- Good organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Willing to work flexible hours when required.
- Can start immediately (ASAP).
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: From Php11,180.00 per month
