Job Summary:

We are seeking a dependable and experienced Reefer Van Truck Driver to transport temperature-sensitive goods safely and efficiently. In this role, you will operate a refrigerated truck (reefer van) to deliver goods such as food and other perishable items, ensuring that the specified temperature requirements are met during transit. The ideal candidate will have a strong work ethic, excellent driving skills, and the ability to handle time-sensitive deliveries while adhering to safety regulations.

Key Responsibilities:

• Reefer Van Operation: Safely drive and operate a refrigerated truck, ensuring that temperature controls are correctly set and maintained throughout the journey to keep cargo at optimal conditions.
• Pre-Trip & Post-Trip Inspections: Perform daily pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the reefer truck and refrigeration unit, checking for issues related to the vehicle, cargo, and temperature settings.
• Temperature Monitoring: Regularly monitor the temperature of the cargo to ensure compliance with safety and quality standards. Take corrective action when needed if temperature deviates from required range.
• Route Planning & Navigation: Plan and follow efficient delivery routes, ensuring timely and safe delivery of goods while adhering to all traffic laws and regulations.
• Cargo Handling: Load, secure, and unload temperature-sensitive cargo with care to prevent damage. Ensure that the cargo is safely handled and transported according to company protocols.
• Delivery Documentation: Maintain accurate records of deliveries, including temperature logs, delivery confirmation, and vehicle inspection reports.
• Customer Service: Maintain a professional and courteous demeanor when interacting with clients, providing updates on delivery status, and addressing any customer concerns regarding the delivery.
• Compliance with Regulations: Adhere to all federal, state, and local transportation and safety regulations, including those specific to refrigerated transportation and perishable goods.
• Fuel & Maintenance: Monitor fuel usage and report any issues related to the refrigeration unit or vehicle maintenance. Ensure that the truck is maintained in a clean and operational condition at all times.
• Safety & Emergency Response: Act quickly and efficiently in the event of an accident, breakdown, or emergency situation, following established procedures.

Qualifications:

• Valid CDL License: A valid Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with the appropriate endorsements to operate a reefer van truck. With Restriction C in Driving License.
• Experience: Minimum of 1 year of experience operating refrigerated trucks (reefer vans), particularly with temperature-sensitive goods.
• Clean Driving Record: No major traffic violations, DUIs, or accidents within the past years.
• Physical Fitness: Ability to lift and carry up to heavy, load/unload cargo, and sit for long periods while driving.
• Attention to Detail: Ability to monitor and maintain temperature control systems and ensure cargo integrity during transport.
• Customer Service: Professional and courteous communication skills, with the ability to handle delivery-related inquiries.
• Safety Awareness: Knowledge of safe driving practices, including those specific to transporting perishable goods.
• Technology Proficiency: Comfortable using GPS systems, mobile apps, and reefer unit control panels to monitor routes and cargo conditions.

Physical Demands:

• Ability to lift and carry heavy.
• Long periods of sitting while driving.
• Ability to operate manual and automatic transmission vehicles.
• Frequent loading, unloading, and securing of goods.
• Ability to work in various weather conditions while loading, unloading, or performing inspections.
