Job Summary:

The IT Disaster Recovery Manager is responsible for ensuring the organizations IT systems and data are resilient, recoverable, and protected against disruptions. This role oversees the design, implementation, and maintenance of disaster recovery (DR) and business continuity (BC) strategies, ensuring critical IT services can be restored within defined recovery objectives.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelors degree in Information Technology or a related field.
  • At least 5 years of experience in IT infrastructure, operations, or cybersecurity, with 3+ years focused on disaster recovery or business continuity management.
  • Knowledge of relevant frameworks and standards (ISO 22301, ISO 27001, ITIL, NIST).
  • Excellent communication, coordination, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities during high-pressure situations.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Develop, implement, and maintain the organizations IT Disaster Recovery and Business Continuity Plans.
  • Conduct risk assessments and business impact analyses to identify critical systems and establish appropriate Recovery Time Objectives (RTOs) and Recovery Point Objectives (RPOs).
  • Coordinate the implementation of disaster recovery solutions, including data backup, system redundancy, and failover mechanisms.
  • Plan and lead regular DR tests and simulations to validate recovery strategies and ensure readiness.
  • Manage incident response and coordinate IT recovery activities during system outages or data loss events.
  • Ensure compliance with internal policies, industry standards, and audit requirements related to disaster recovery and information security.
  • Maintain documentation of DR procedures, system dependencies, contact lists, and test results.
  • Provide training and awareness programs to IT and business stakeholders on disaster recovery practices.
  • Continuously evaluate and enhance disaster recovery capabilities based on lessons learned and emerging technologies.
