We are open to new college graduates with a strong foundation in medical terminology and coursework, although 1 year of direct medical billing experience is preferred.

Key Responsibilities

As a Medical Biller, your primary focus will be on precision and coordination across the revenue cycle:

• Coding & Billing: Accurately review, code, and bill all invoices and claims for medical services rendered, ensuring correct submission to the appropriate payer or client.
• Reconciliation & Troubleshooting: Analyze and troubleshoot complex financial invoices, addressing discrepancies to maximize reimbursement.
• Cross-Departmental Collaboration: Work closely with internal teams, including referral, claims, insurance, and collections, to resolve outstanding billing issues and ensure a smooth process flow.
• Compliance & Protocol: Navigate and strictly adhere to various billing rules, regulations, and protocols established by clients, healthcare entities, and U.S. insurance providers.
• Communication: Communicate effectively with healthcare professionals and internal staff to obtain necessary documentation and additional information for successful billing.

What You'll Need to Succeed: Required Skills & Experience

• Medical Billing Experience: Minimum of 1 year of experience as a Medical Biller is strongly preferred, though is not strictly required if education and knowledge are excellent.
• Coding Knowledge: Good practical understanding of HCPCS and CPT codes.
• Collections: Knowledge of payment collections processes, particularly from insurance companies in the United States.
• Availability: Must be willing and able to work a full-time, mandatory night shift schedule.
• Work Location: Must be able to reliably commute to our on-site facility in San Juan City prior to the start date (this is an on-site only position).
• Technical Proficiency: Strong basic computer proficiency, including Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) and Google Workspace (Docs, Sheets, Drive).
• Typing Speed: Minimum typing speed of 40 words per minute (WPM).
• Language Fluency: Must be fully fluent in English (written and verbal communication required). Spanish fluency is a valued bonus.
• Other Abilities: Strong aptitude for learning quickly, effective multi-tasking and prioritization skills, and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team.

Education & Knowledge

• Education: Minimum of 2 years of completed study in any medical course or equivalent education (required).
• Prior Experience: Experience in customer service calls or clerical/administrative roles is a plus.
