Substation Tender

Job Summary:

Monitor, Record, Inspection of all Substation sub-station parameters including operation and maintenance.

Major responsibilities:

• Conducts hourly meter reading, periodic inspection of all switchyard equipment and reports to the Engineer and/or Manager, any abnormality in the substation parameters;
• Operates disconnect switches and other outdoor control panels as instructed by the Manager and/or Engineer;
• Participates, as directed by its superior, in the preventive maintenance and repair activities;
• Monitor and record substation hourly meter reading (i.e. demand, kvarhr voltage, current, power factor and transformer oil level and temperature;
• Maintains cleanliness and orderliness of switchyard including interiors of outdoor panels and cable trenches;
• Coordinates with other groups with regards to power interruptions, load shedding and other operating works as necessary;
• Receives spot reports from customers for appropriate reporting and/or action from management.

Qualifications:

• Physically fit, willing to work shifting schedules;
• At least Vocational/ Technical Graduate (Electrical, Electronics, or related course);
• With TESDA NC II in Electrical Installation and Maintenance (or equivalent);
• Preferably with experience in substation operations or electrical work;
• Knowledgeable in electrical systems, safety rules, and troubleshooting;
• Willing to undergo continuous training and field assignments.
