JOB SUMMARY
The TOC Engineer is responsible for monitoring, analyzing, and maintaining the performance and stability of the telecom network. The role ensures quick detection, escalation, and resolution of network issues affecting services such as wireless, fiber, transmission, and core network systems. The TOC Engineer works in a 24/7 operations environment and plays a key role in maintaining high network availability and service quality.
KEY ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Monitor network performance, alarms, and events through NMS/OSS tools on a 24/7 basis.
- Identify, analyze, and escalate network incidents related to wireless, fiber, IP, transmission, and core systems.
- Coordinate with field teams, vendors, and engineers to ensure timely resolution of outages.
- Perform remote troubleshooting and initial diagnosis of network issues.
- Generate incident reports, fault logs, and network performance reports.
- Ensure adherence to escalation procedures and service level agreements (SLAs).
- Track ongoing incidents and provide regular status updates to stakeholders.
- Assist in planned maintenance activities and network change implementations.
- Ensure proper documentation of configurations, incidents, and network changes.
- Participate in root cause analysis (RCA) for major incidents.
- Support process improvement, network optimization, and quality initiatives.
- Perform other related duties to support network reliability and operations efficiency.
QUALIFICATIONSEducation:
- Bachelor's degree in Electronics Engineering, Telecommunications Engineering, Information Technology, or related field.
- Licensed ECE is an advantage but not required.
Relevant Experience:
- Experience in network monitoring, NOC/TOC operations, or telecom operations is preferred.
- Fresh graduates with strong technical background may be considered (optional—can add if needed).
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Knowledge of telecom networks (wireless, fiber, IP, transmission).
- Familiarity with NMS/OSS platforms and network monitoring tools.
- Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills.
- Good communication and coordination abilities.
- Ability to work in shifting schedules (24/7 operations).
- Attention to detail and ability to work under pressure.
- Strong documentation and reporting skills.
