BASIC FUNCTIONS

The Radiologic Technologist deals with patients, operates medical imaging modalities, and performs various functions in their effort to provide image quality for diagnostic purposes.

Education : Graduate of Bachelor of Science in Radiologic Technology

License : Registered with PRC Board of Radiologic Technology

Experience : At least one (1) year of work experience in a Hospital setting

Training : Customer Service Training

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Remains calm with agitated patients.
  • Provides compassion and care to each and every patient.
  • Ensures correct patient's information.
  • Explains procedures to patients and answers questions.
  • Assists patients in signing the consent form for special procedures.
  • Prepares equipment needed and room for the examination.
  • Monitors patients during examinations, ensures their safety, and following procedures to prevent unnecessary exposure to radiation.
  • Retrieve old records images, and merge studies and other patient data using Novapacs.
  • Reports important information to the physician.
  • Assigns X-ray, CT-scan, Mammogram and MRI examinations with history to corresponding Radiologist.
  • Assists the Sonologist in general and Ob-gyne ultrasound.
  • Assists the Surgeon at the Operating Room when a C-Arm machine is needed during operation.
  • Uses portable devices to conduct diagnostic examinations on patients who can't move to the radiology unit.
  • Releases results for out-patients.
  • Forwards of results for admitted patients.
  • Documents all important endorsements in the logbook with name and signature.
  • Check the inventory level of radiology supplies.
  • Responds to inquiries via phone, text messages or in person daily.
  • Maintains orderly and clean area within the section.
  • Close working relationships with the Radiologists who interpret the images.
  • Attends training programs and learning sessions for the enhancement of professional, technical, and personal proficiencies.
