SAP ABAP Manager

Role Overview

We are looking for an experienced SAP ABAP Manager to lead technical development initiatives for global SAP projects. This role involves managing offshore development, delivering enhancements, and ensuring high-quality solutions aligned with client requirements. Occasional onshore delivery may also be required.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and deliver SAP ABAP development from offshore, ensuring quality, scope, and timelines.
  • Work closely with functional consultants, solution engineers, and stakeholders to resolve issues and ensure compliance with requirements.
  • Estimate, design, build, and test SAP BTP developments and S/4HANA WRICEF objects.
  • Participate in RFPs, client workshops, and architectural discussions, providing best practice recommendations.
  • Act as technical architect and contribute to solution design, innovation, and value delivery.
  • Mentor and coach junior developers and team members.
  • Ensure adherence to clean core principles and industry best practices.
  • Contribute to pre-sales activities and support client workshops.

Required Skills & Experience

  • Hands-on expertise in ABAP Cloud, CDS, OData, Gateway, RESTful ABAP Programming, IDOC, Adobe Forms, ABAP OO, BOPF, Workflows, ATC.
  • Strong experience with S/4HANA WRICEF implementations, conversions, and custom code remediation.
  • Deep understanding of clean core mindset and extensibility (Developer Extensibility, Embedded Steampunk).
  • Knowledge of open standards (e.g., Cloud Foundry).
  • Experience in SAP functional processes, bug fixing, and troubleshooting.
  • Proven track record in solution design, client engagement, and leading workshops.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills with senior stakeholders.
  • 10–15 years of IT industry experience in the SAP domain.

Preferred Qualifications

  • SAP ABAP Development Certification (desired).
  • Experience in pre-sales and regulated industries.

Educational Background

B-Tech, BCA, MCA, MBA, or equivalent.
