A) Position Objective:

The position is responsible for assessing Property and Engineering risks that are either direct clients or referred by intermediaries, whether or not the risks are within the acceptable Underwriting Guidelines or appetite of the company.

B) Roles and Responsibilities:

  1. Evaluate and analyze the risk applications/offers to see if it is accordance with the established underwriting policies/guidelines of the Company.
  2. Able to draft and/or release proper quotations to the Sales Team, Direct Client, Brokers, Agents/Agencies, and Cedants (Insurance Companies), incorporating the correct terms of cover as well as coming up with the appropriate rate corresponding to the correct exposure.
  3. Support the Team Lead with regard to collecting data and analyzing the portfolio, recommending action plans to improve portfolio experience.
  4. Support the Team Lead in generating profitable accounts to achieve budget (proposal monitoring, follow-up, etc.)
  5. Liaising with the Sales Team and Intermediaries of BSL.
  6. All other tasks as may be required by the Team Lead and/or the Department Head.

C) Minimum Job Requirements:

 Education: College/University Graduate

 Work-Related Experience:

o Preferably with Property or Engineering underwriting background, with experience in non-life insurance as minimum

o Good analytical skills

o High attention to details

o Computer literate and is well-versed in operating MS Applications (Excel, Word)

o Has the ability to work under pressure and can do analytics
