We are seeking a reliable and energetic Warehouse Picker to join our growing logistics team.

Job Summary

The Warehouse Picker is responsible for the accurate and timely preparation of grocery orders for delivery. This role involves navigating the warehouse to locate specific products (canned goods, dry goods, beverages, etc.), inspecting items for quality and expiration dates, and packing them securely for transport. The ideal candidate pays close attention to detail and can handle the physical demands of a fast-paced distribution environment.

Key Responsibilities

1. Order Picking & Fulfillment

  • Read and interpret pick tickets, invoices, or digital order sheets to determine items required for shipment.
  • Locate products within the warehouse aisles efficiently.
  • Grocery Specific: Strictly adhere to FEFO (First-Expired, First-Out) and FIFO (First-In, First-Out) protocols to ensure older stock is shipped first to prevent spoilage.

2. Quality Control & Inspection

  • Inspect all grocery items for damages (dents, leaks, broken seals) before packing.
  • Verify that the quantity and product description (SKU) match the order exactly.
  • Report any stock discrepancies (shortages or overages) to the Warehouse Supervisor immediately.

3. Packing & Staging

  • Pack items securely into boxes or crates. Ensure heavy items (e.g., canned goods, detergent) are at the bottom and fragile items (e.g., chips, noodles, glass bottles) are on top.
  • Label packages clearly with order details and shipping information.
  • Stage completed orders in the designated loading area for delivery drivers.

4. Inventory & Maintenance

  • Assist in restocking shelves and conducting periodic physical inventory counts.
  • Maintain a clean and safe work environment by breaking down cardboard boxes and keeping aisles free of debris.
  • Operate manual pallet jacks or hand trucks to move heavy sacks (e.g., rice, sugar) or bulk cases.

Job Qualifications

Education & Experience

  • High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
  • Preferred: At least 6 months to 1 year of experience in a warehouse, logistics, or grocery setting.
  • Experience using a manual pallet jack or hand truck is a plus.

Skills & Competencies

  • Basic Math: Ability to add, subtract, and multiply to verify quantities.
  • Attention to Detail: Ability to distinguish between similar grocery products (e.g., different sizes or flavors of the same brand).
  • Organizational Skills: Understanding of warehouse organization and shelf numbering systems.

Physical Requirements

  • Stamina: Ability to stand and walk for the duration of the shift (8+ hours).
  • Strength: Ability to lift and carry heavy objects (up to 25kg–50kg, such as sacks of rice or cases of beverages) regularly.
  • Dexterity: Ability to bend, squat, reach, and twist to access products on lower or upper shelves.
