Maintenance Specialist

Position Overview:

The Maintenance Specialist is responsible for maintaining, repairing and improving the overall functionality of the organization's facilities and equipment. This position requires expertise in various systems, including electrical, mechanical and plumbing, along with a proactive approach to maintenance. The Maintenance Specialist will perform routine inspections, troubleshoot issues, and ensure all systems are functioning optimally. By addressing maintenance needs promptly, the specialist helps minimize downtime and ensures a safe and comfortable environment for employees and visitors.

Key Responsibilities:

• Routine Maintenance: Perform regular inspections, servicing and repairs of mechanical, electrical and plumbing systems within the facilities to ensure that remain operational.
• Equipment Repair: Troubleshoot and fix malfunctions in machinery, equipment and ensuring minimal disruption to operations.
• Preventive Maintenance: Implement and monitor a preventive maintenance schedule, ensuring timely service of equipment to avoid unexpected breakdowns.
• Facility Upkeep: Assist in maintaining the facility's cleanliness, appearance and overall functionality. Address minor construction needs, including patching walls, repairing flooring and painting.
• Emergency Response: Respond quickly to urgent maintenance issues or emergencies, ensuring that problems are resolved efficiently with minimal downtime.
• Inventory Management: Maintain and track an inventory of supplies and parts, ensuring stock levels are sufficient and replacements are ordered when necessary.
• Safety Compliance: Follow all safety protocols and regulations to ensure the safe operation of equipment and systems. Identify and report potential hazards or maintenance risks.
• Documentation: Keep accurate records on maintenance activities, repairs, inspections and safety compliance.
• Collaboration: Work closely with team members, supervisors and external contractors to coordinate tasks and to improve facility systems.

Qualifications:

• Education: High school diploma or equivalent; technical certification in maintenance-related fields preferred.
• Experience: Proven experience (3+ years) in a maintenance role, with a working knowledge of mechanical, electrical and plumbing systems.
• Technical Skills: Proficiency in troubleshooting and repair a wide range of equipment and systems (e.g., electrical systems plumbing, machinery).
• Problem-Solving: Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills to quickly diagnose and resolve issues.
• Communication: Good communications skills, both verbal and written for reporting and coordinating with other team members and management.
• Physical Ability: Ability to lift heavy objects (up to 50 pounds), climb ladders, and perform physical task for extended period.
• Safety Awareness: Familiarity with safety procedures and ability to maintain a safe working environment.
• Time Management: Ability to prioritize tasks and work independently in a fast-paced environment.
