Accounting Intern

Main Purposes of the Job Internship:

As an Accounting Intern, you will assist with daily and monthly financial and accounting transactions using the company's system. Your role will involve managing and executing balance sheet account reconciliations, analyzing financial information, preparing reports and tax returns, and supporting the Manager with compliance and other reporting requirements.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Primary Responsibilities:

Accounts Payable:

  • Update and monitor cash position reports by encoding approved check vouchers (CV) with signed checks and posting released checks daily.
  • Maintain precise and accurate records of all payments.
  • Collaborate with various departments to perform accounting audits.
  • Assist with the release of payments to suppliers/providers, follow up on official receipts for payments made via bank deposit (advance payments), and ensure all necessary documents are complete.
  • Post local payment journals in the accounting system.

Accounts Receivable:

  • Process accounts receivable and collection functions, including preparing, printing, and posting sales documents (invoices, billing statements, receipts), and follow up on outstanding invoices.
  • Handle transaction processing related to accounts receivable payments, revenue collections, and bank deposits.
  • Prepare and compile billing documentation.
  • Enter and post accounts receivable transactions in the company's accounting system and coordinate the Accounts Receivable report with other departments.
  • Verify the accuracy of collections and corresponding withholding taxes and certificates.

Accounts Reconciliation:

  • Ensure accuracy in cash balancing calculations.
  • Assist in reviewing the organization's bank accounts, checks, and balances against ledger amounts.
  • Monitor daily banking activities, including credits (ensuring collections and payments are properly reflected in bank accounts) and debits (reconciling payments and cash advances with accounting records) to detect irregularities.
  • Provide regular reconciliations and reports/documentation to support all financial transactions.
  • Maintain files, reports, and data for all financial and accounting transactions.

Cash Advances Liquidations and Reimbursements:

  • Monitor and update the liquidation of cash advances.
  • Prepare reports on unliquidated cash advances.
  • Process cash advance requests, ensuring all attachments are complete.
  • Monitor and audit cash advance liquidations, ensuring employees with unliquidated advances comply with policy.
  • Assist with the replenishment of petty cash funds.

This internship offers comprehensive exposure to finance and accounting functions and provides an opportunity to gain hands-on experience in a dynamic financial environment, with the possibility of being offered a position after the internship period.

Job Types: OJT (On the job training)

Onboarding Requirements:

  • Officially enrolled in a college
  • Enrolled in an internship subject
  • With good scholastic records duly endorsed by the school
  • Able to pass the pre-internship requirements

Pay: From Php per day

Benefits:
