The IT Supervisor – Infrastructure and Project Management plays a vital leadership role in supporting the hospital's technology infrastructure and executing IT projects that enhance patient care, operational efficiency, and regulatory compliance. This role is responsible for overseeing the design, implementation, and maintenance of secure and reliable systems that support both clinical and administrative functions.

Key Responsibilities:

Infrastructure Oversight

  • Supervise the operation and maintenance of hospital IT infrastructure, including servers, networks, wireless systems, storage, and cloud services.
  • Ensure high availability and disaster recovery for critical hospital systems such as EMRs, PACS, and other clinical applications.
  • Implement infrastructure upgrades and security enhancements in compliance with healthcare regulations.
  • Coordinate vendor support and manage service contracts for medical technology systems and hospital-wide IT services.

Project Management

  • Lead IT infrastructure projects, including new system deployments, facility expansions, and technology upgrades.
  • Develop and manage detailed project plans, timelines, resource allocations, and risk mitigation strategies.
  • Coordinate with clinical, administrative, and facilities departments to ensure project alignment with hospital needs and standards.
  • Ensure that projects meet compliance, privacy, and accreditation standards.

Team Leadership

  • Supervise infrastructure and technical staff including network administrators, system engineers, and project coordinators.
  • Provide coaching, performance reviews, and professional development support.
  • Create a culture of collaboration, service excellence, and continuous improvement.

Collaboration & Communication

  • Serve as a key liaison between IT and clinical/administrative departments.
  • Communicate technical information clearly to non-technical staff and leadership.
  • Prepare reports on infrastructure performance, incident response, and project updates for IT leadership and hospital executives.
Qualifications:

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Healthcare Informatics, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in IT infrastructure roles, with 2+ years in a supervisory or project leadership position.
  • Experience in a healthcare environment or hospital IT department strongly preferred.

Technical Skills

  • Deep understanding of IT systems
  • Proficiency in network architecture, virtualization (VMware, Hyper-V), cloud services (Azure, AWS), storage, and cybersecurity protocols.
  • Familiarity with ITSM frameworks and tools

Certifications (Preferred)

  • PMP, ITIL, or other project management certifications.
  • Healthcare IT certifications such as CHITSP, CHISL, or equivalent.
  • Vendor certifications (Cisco, Microsoft, VMware, etc.) are a plus.
