Job description

-Plan and schedule material requirements based on production forecasts, customer demand, and build plans.

-Monitor and maintain material inventory levels to prevent shortages or excesses that could impact production or cost.

-Generate and issue material purchase requisitions or work orders in coordination with the Purchasing team.

-Coordinate with the Purchasing team to ensure on-time delivery of materials from suppliers. Track supplier delivery schedules and follow up on open orders to ensure on-time arrival of materials.

-Coordinate with IQA, Warehouse, and Production teams to ensure smooth material flow from receiving to line usage.

-Analyze consumption trends, lead times, and material yield to optimize planning parameters in the MRP/ERP system.

-Address and resolve material-related issues that could affect production continuity, including quality holds or delayed shipments.

-Maintain accurate material master data and planning parameters in the ERP system. Prepare and present reports on material status, shortage lists, and supplier performance.

-Track supplier performance and escalate issues affecting material availability or quality.

Job qualification

Education: Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or any related field.

Experience: Minimum of 2–3 years (some companies prefer 3–5 years) of experience in material planning, production planning, or inventory management in a manufacturing environment. Technical Skills: Proficient in ERP/MRP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics, Infor).

Strong knowledge of Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUP, data analysis). Familiarity with supply chain processes, Bill of Materials (BOMs), and production scheduling.

Analytical & Planning Skills: Strong forecasting and demand planning abilities. Can analyze consumption trends and adjust procurement accordingly. Capable of managing multiple materials and priorities efficiently.

Soft Skills: Excellent communication and coordination skills (works closely with Purchasing, Production, and Warehouse). Attention to detail and accuracy in data management. Problem-solving mindset and ability to act under pressure.

Other Preferred: Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing or Just-In-Time (JIT) concepts. Experience working with suppliers and logistics teams.
