Microbiologist

Key Responsibilities

• Perform microbiological testing and analysis on water, wastewater, and other relevant samples.
• Conduct microbial enumeration, identification, isolation, and confirmation following standardized laboratory methods.
• Handle at least 300 microbiological samples, ensuring accuracy, completeness of data, and proper documentation.
• Ensure compliance with regulatory and accreditation requirements (DOH, DENR, and other relevant agencies).
• Maintain laboratory records, worksheets, logbooks, and QA/QC documentation in accordance with laboratory protocols.
• Operate, maintain, and calibrate microbiological instruments and equipment.
• Support preparation for external audits, inspections, and laboratory accreditation processes.
• Observe strict biosafety protocols, environmental health standards, and good laboratory practices (GLP).
• Coordinate with other analysts and supervisors to ensure timely release of test results.
• Contribute to continuous improvements in laboratory procedures and quality systems.

Qualifications

• Preferably a graduate of Microbiology, Biology, or a related field.
• Licensed Chemist or Chemical Technician with strong microbiology knowledge may also be considered.
• At least 2 years of relevant experience, preferably with exposure to wastewater microbiological analysis.
• Experience handling at least 300 microbiology-related samples is a strong advantage.
• Solid understanding of regulatory standards and laboratory accreditation requirements (DOH, DENR, etc.).
• Skilled in microbial enumeration, identification, and laboratory techniques.
• Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and documentation discipline.
• Good communication and teamwork skills.
• Willing to work in Valenzuela City.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: Php20, Php30,000.00 per month
