Mold Polisher

Job Description:

- Responsible for the polishing and finishing of mold components to achieve the required surface finish and dimensional accuracy. This role is critical in ensuring high-quality molds for production in injection molding, die-casting, or similar processes.

Key Responsibilities:

- Perform manual and machine-assisted polishing of mold components (e.g., cores, cavities, inserts)

- Use polishing tools such as oil stones, diamond paste, sandpaper, ultrasonic polishers, and rotary tools.

- Read and interpret technical drawings and polishing specifications.

- Inspect mold components for surface defects such as scratches, pitting, or EDM (Electrical Discharge Machining) marks.

- Collaborate with toolmakers, machinists, and engineers to ensure mold components meet required tolerances and finishes.

- Ensure proper handling, storage, and care of high-precision components.

- Maintain documentation of work performed and polishing conditions.

- Follow safety procedures and maintain cleanliness in the working area.

- Support mold maintenance and repair activities as needed.

Qualifications:

- Male or Female

- At least High School Graduate or Technical/Vocational Certificate in Tool and Die, Machining, Mechanical Technology, or related field.

- NCII or higher certification in Tool and Die Making or Machining from TESDA is a strong advantage.

- 1-3 years experience in mold polishing, tool and die maintenance, or mold fabrication in a manufacturing setting.

- Familiar with plastic injection mold components or die-casting molds is preferred.

Skills and Competencies:

- Skilled in using manual polishing tools and machines.

- Strong attention to detail and quality.

- Basic knowledge of mold structure and polishing standards

- Ability to read technical drawings and understand tolerances.

- With good communication skills.

- Basic computer knowledge (for documentation/reporting) is an advantage.

Physical Requirements:

- Good eyesight and hand-eye coordination.

- Ability to work in a clean-room or tooling environment.

- Can stand or sit for extended periods during polishing tasks.
