Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Hemodialysis Technician to join our healthcare team. In this vital role, you will be responsible for providing high-quality care to patients undergoing hemodialysis treatment. You will work closely with patients, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to ensure a safe and effective dialysis experience. Your expertise in dialysis procedures and patient care will be essential in promoting the health and well-being of our patients.
Responsibilities
- Assists the nurse with pre- and post-dialysis patient assessment and documentation
- Efficiently assists the nurse during external access preparation & insertion and for emergency dialysis procedures.
- Effectively performs Cardio-Pulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) in the event of cardiac and /or pulmonary arrest
- Provides uniform care to all patients undergoing hemodialysis following the rules and regulations established by DOH and company policies and procedures (refer to work instructions).
- Performs basic infection control measures through: hand hygiene, use of personal protective equipment, proper waste disposal, observance of standard/ transmission-based precautions and observance of bundles of care.
- Responds to disaster calls appropriately
- Ensures that confidentiality and privacy is provided in a respectful manner at all times.
Qualifications
- At least a college graduate of any health-related courses or under board and completion of at least one week (40 hours) training as a technician in a Hemodialysis unit.
- Must have wide experience in the care and treatment of Hemodialysis patients.
- Must have a basic comprehension of the anatomy and physiology of the renal and circulatory system. A good understanding of the principles of chronic, renal failure and its complications.
- Demonstrates competence in performing emergency treatment.
- Must be highly skilled in the operation of Hemodialysis equipment.
- Ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
