The Qualifications We Seek

• Minimum of 3-5 years' experience in accounting, preferably within an Australian family office, investment firm, or private wealth management environment
• Understanding of Australian Accounting Standards, taxation laws, and regulatory requirements
• Proficiency in Xero and experience working with financial reporting tools
• Advanced Excel skills, including financial modeling, data analysis, and automation techniques
• CPA or CA qualification is desirable but not required
• Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in financial data management
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Excellent communication skills to liaise effectively with internal and external stakeholders
• Experience working with high-net-worth individuals and investment structures is a plus

Your Daily Tasks

• Oversee financial records and ensure compliance with Australian Accounting Standards (AASB) and tax regulations
• Prepare accounts up to the trial balance stage with accuracy and timeliness
• Prepare and review financial statements, BAS, GST, FBT, tax returns, and other regulatory filings
• Maintain accurate and well-documented financial records
• Use Xero to manage and reconcile financial transactions and reports
• Develop and maintain advanced Excel models and financial analysis tools
• Liaise with external auditors, tax advisors, and other stakeholders
• Identify and resolve discrepancies or irregularities in financial data
• Assist in cash flow forecasting, budgeting, and financial planning
• Ensure compliance with Australian taxation laws, superannuation, payroll, and corporate governance requirements
• Collaborate with the Financial Controller and key personnel to provide financial insights and recommendations
• Streamline processes and improve financial reporting
