Merchandising Manager

JOB SUMMARY
- Manage the development and curation of the company's product lines, with a focus on brassieres and new lingerie innovations.
- Oversee the buying process, including sourcing and negotiating finished products and materials.
- Craft and implement merchandising strategies to ensure effective product selection, pricing, placement, and promotion to meet customer needs, boost brand visibility, drive sales & profitability.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
A. BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT
- Product Line Enhancement
: Build and strengthen the company's product line, focusing on brassieres and new product innovations that complement existing lingerie collections. - Market Research
: Conduct in-depth market research, including demand-supply analysis, pricing trends, competitive landscape, and key industry shifts to ensure the brand stays ahead with new product innovations and pricing strategies. - Industry Reports & Strategies
: Collate industry reports, identify new opportunities, and translate them into actionable merchandising strategies that align with market trends. - Product Collection Evaluation
: Regularly review sales data to identify top-selling and underperforming products, assess seasonality, pricing, and market conditions, and recommend product adjustments or phase-outs for sustainable offerings. - Sales Forecasting & Inventory Management
: Analyze sales trends and forecasts to ensure best-selling products are consistently in stock, optimizing finished goods inventory. - OEM Business Partner Relationships
: Source, build, and maintain business relationships with reliable suppliers, negotiate external development and manufacturing opportunities to ensure on-time delivery, proper quality, and competitive prices, while aligning with the company's needs and business objectives.
B. SOURCING
External Sourcing
:Collaborate with the Purchasing department to source, identify and maintain reliable suppliers who offer the best materials/finished product prices and meet business needs.
- Oversee the management of the OEM process, including supplier coordination, timelines, packaging compliance, and quality control.
- Work with OEM partners to develop technical solutions, specifications, and testing procedures.
- Develop strategies to negotiate favorable terms and conditions, including bulk order discounts and flexible lead times.
- Monitor supplier performance, resolving any quality control or delivery issues quickly and efficiently.
C. MERCHANDISING MANAGEMENT
- KPI Reporting
: Prepare and manage marketing and merchandising KPI reports to highlight departmental opportunities, support decision-making, and track progress towards department goals. Pricing and Costing Management
:Manage competitive pricing strategies, ensuring profitability while staying aligned with market expectations.
- Ensure accurate computation of SRPs and monitor competitor pricing to maintain alignment with company profit margins.
- Coordinate with import suppliers to ensure proper documentation and importation processes, securing cost savings on importation and timely product delivery.
- Execute pricing strategies, including markdowns or sales activities for product phase-outs.

Product Performance, Distribution and Placement
:
- Collaborate with the sales team to monitor product salability, analyze sales data, and implement corrective actions to improve product performance.
- Plan stock assortments to ensure products are distributed effectively across physical stores, online platforms, and other retail outlets.
- Collaborate with sales and distribution teams to guarantee product availability in key locations and at optimal times to meet customer demand.

Product Promotion & Marketing
: Lead the creation and development of marketing collateral and visual presentations to ensure product visibility through effective merchandising displays, promotions, and planograms that drive sales and enhance customer engagement.
D. PEOPLE MANAGEMENT
- Lead and mentor a team of marketing/merchandising professionals, ensuring departmental goals and targets are met.
- Accomplishes department objectives by managing staff; Defines the goals and assign tasks to the various members of the team; appraising team on achievement of goals and targets; planning and evaluating department activities.
- Maintains staff by recruiting, selecting, orienting, and training employees. Ensures a safe, secure, and legal work environment. Sustains and implements discipline in the workplace. Develops personal growth opportunities.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor's degree in business, Marketing, or related field.
- Must
have an experience in a
Clothing/Garment/Fashion/Apparel Manufacturing Industry - Managerial role with proven experience in merchandising, or retail management.
- Must
have an experience in
BACK END & FRONT END OF MERCHANDISING - Strong understanding of merchandising principles (4P)
