Key Responsibilities

● Test Strategy & Planning: Develop and implement comprehensive test strategies, plans,

and cases for hybrid cloud solutions running on RHOCP, covering functional,

non-functional (performance, scalability, security), and migration testing.

● Test Automation: Design, build, and maintain robust automation frameworks and test

scripts using tools appropriate for cloud-native applications (e.g., Selenium, Python, Go,

Bash, REST API testing tools).

● Execution & Defect Management: Execute test cases, analyze results, identify,

document, and track defects across the software development lifecycle (SDLC), and

verify fixes.

● Hybrid Cloud Environment Validation: Test the seamless deployment, operation, and

management of containerized applications as they move between on-premises data

centers (private cloud) and public cloud providers (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP) using

RHOCP.

● Infrastructure Testing: Validate the stability and functionality of the underlying RHOCP

cluster components, networking, storage, and security configurations in a hybrid setup.

● CI/CD Integration: Integrate automated tests into the Continuous Integration/Continuous

Deployment (CI/CD) pipelines (e.g., using Jenkins, Tekton, GitLab CI) to support rapid,

iterative development.

● Performance & Reliability: Conduct load, stress, and stability testing to ensure RHOCP

applications meet performance and scalability requirements under various hybrid cloud

conditions.

● Security Testing: Verify security policies, network segmentation, access controls, and

vulnerability remediation within the OpenShift environment.

Essential Skills and Qualifications

Technical Skills

● Red Hat OpenShift/Kubernetes: Deep understanding of RHOCP or native Kubernetes

architecture, core concepts (Pods, Services, Deployments, Operators), and administrative

tasks.

● Containerization: Expertise with Docker or Podman for image building and

management.

● Cloud Platforms: Working knowledge of one or more major public cloud providers (AWS,

Azure, or GCP) and experience with hybrid cloud concepts.

● Programming/Scripting: Proficiency in at least one scripting or programming language

for automation (e.g., Python, Go, Java, Bash).

● Automation Tools: Experience with test automation frameworks (e.g., Selenium,

Cypress), API testing tools (e.g., Postman, RestAssured), and performance tools (e.g.,

JMeter).

● Infrastructure as Code (IaC): Familiarity with IaC tools like Terraform or Ansible for

environment provisioning.

● CI/CD: Experience with CI/CD tools and methodologies.

● Networking/Storage: Understanding of cloud networking principles, load balancing,

service meshes, and container storage interfaces (CSI).

● Monitoring/Logging: Experience with observability tools for OpenShift environments

(e.g., Prometheus, Grafana, ELK stack/OpenShift Logging).

● Database/SQL: Basic knowledge of databases and SQL for backend data validation.

Soft Skills and Methodology

● Analytical and Problem-Solving: Strong ability to analyze complex technical systems

and effectively diagnose issues across distributed hybrid environments.

● Agile/DevOps: Experience working in an Agile development environment and a solid

understanding of DevOps principles.

● Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills for collaborating with

developers, operations teams, and stakeholders.

● Attention to Detail: Meticulous approach to test case design and defect reporting.
