SPECIFIC DUTIES:

Prepares the hemodialysis machine to be used by scheduled patients by disinfecting  before the actual procedure.

Primes the dialyzer and bloodlines of each patient before the actual procedure.

Rinses, disinfects and stores the dialyzer after dialysis ensuring their sterility for subsequent use as well as ensuring proper documentation/labeling in accordance with policies on re-use.

Disinfects hemodialysis machine after dialysis with the recommended disinfectants to prevent cross-contamination of the patients.

Assists nurse in starting and terminating the dialysis procedure to facilitate the smooth flow of work based on the operating manual procedure.

Assists the nurse in rendering patient care, but not in administering any drug, to be able to meet the needs and demands of the patient especially during busy hours.

Assures the availability of supplies for everyday use and coordinate with his immediate supervisor.

Performs errands and other related tasks necessary for the smooth operation of the unit.
