Job Purpose: To support SLI operations by safely transporting installation teams and equipment, providing hands-on assistance during broadband and BBSP installations, ensuring proper handling of tools and materials, and maintaining safety and operational efficiency on-site. This role also serves as a stepping stone for field personnel to be trained as an Installer.

Job Summary: The Driver/Helper provides operational and logistical support for SLI field teams by transporting personnel and equipment, assisting with installations, and maintaining materials and tools. The role ensures efficient field operations, safety, and customer satisfaction. With appropriate training, the Driver/Helper may progress to become a qualified Installer.

Dirver/Helper's Duties and Responsibilities

Drive the installation team to and from customer sites following assigned schedules and routes.

Ensure timely dispatch and avoid delays in customer appointments.

Assist in loading and unloading tools, materials, and installation equipment. Other tasks as maybe assigned

Conduct daily vehicle checks (fuel, brakes, tires, oil, battery, lights).

Maintain vehicle cleanliness, roadworthiness, and required documents (OR/CR, logs).

Coordinate with Operations for maintenance, repairs, and inspections.

Comply with traffic laws and company driving policies.

Assist the Installer in preparing tools, cables, and equipment.

Support cable pulling, ladder handling, mounting assistance, and PPE management.

10.   Maintain a clean, safe, and orderly work area at customer premises.

11.   Provide necessary manual support to ensure faster and safer installations.

12.   Ensure completeness of tools, ladders, and materials before dispatch.

13.   Safely secure company tools and equipment during transport and on-site.

14.   Immediately report tool defects, damages, or losses.

15.   Practice defensive driving and follow field safety protocols.

16.   Demonstrate proper behavior and professionalism at all times.

17.   Handle customer premises and company tools with care.

18.   Report hazards, incidents, or on-site concerns to the Team Leader.

19.   Complete daily logs, checklists, trip sheets, and field reports accurately.

20.   Follow Installers' and Team Leaders' instructions to ensure efficient workflow.

21.   Adhere to company policies on attendance, punctuality, professional conduct and PPE requirements

22.   Comply with traffic rules, field safety standards, and company operational guidelines.

23.   Provide feedback on field processes, installation tools, or methods to improve efficiency and service quality.

24.   Participate in training programs for installation skills.

25.   Demonstrate aptitude and readiness to advance into an Installer role.

26.   Apply learned skills under supervision to progressively take on Installer responsibilities..

27.   Perform other related tasks as may be assigned.
