Job Responsibilities:
- Supervision of Aquatic Activities
o Monitor swimming activities to ensure compliance with safety policies and guidelines. Actively observe guests for any signs of distress or unsafe behavior
- Emergency response
o Respond promptly to emergencies, including rescuing swimmers in danger, administering first aid, CPR, and artificial respiration as necessary.
- Safety Inspections
o Regularly inspect pool facilities and equipment to ensure they are safe for use.
o Conduct water quality tests and maintain appropriate chemical levels.
- Enforcement of Rules
o Enforce pool regulations and water safety policies to prevent accidents and injuries
o Provide warnings to guests engaging in unsafe activities
- Guest Interaction
o Welcome guests warmly, addressing their needs and concerns with professionalism
o Provide information about pool and rules and safety practices
- Facility Maintenance
o Assist in cleaning / vacuuming the pool area, including mopping decks, folding towels, and ensuring that all equipment is properly stored after use.
- Training and Instruction
o Instruct or assist with swimming classes as needed, promoting water safety education among guests
- Compliance and Safety
o Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations relevant to recreational activities such as lifeguard certifications for pool areas and basic life training support
o Comply to safety protocols for all activities; actively participate in regular training sessions on emergency procedures.
- Collaboration with other Departments
o Work closely with other departments (e.g.., Food and Beverage, Engineering and Housekeeping) to coordinate activities that require cross departmental support such as maintenance and cleanliness.
o Participate in briefings to keep informed of hotel's promotions and activities.
Qualifications:
- Must possess current basic Lifeguarding Certification, CPR, Certification, First Aid Certification, and any other relevant lifeguard training (e.g., Red Cross Lifeguard Training).
- Previous experience as a lifeguard is preferred.
- String swimming ability; knowledge of emergency response techniques; excellent communication skills; ability to assess situations quickly
- Excellent communication skills for interacting with guests and staff alike.
- Lifeguards must be physically fit to perform their duties effectively. This includes the ability to: Stand or sit for extended periods. Swim proficiently in various conditions. Lift objects weighing up to 50 pounds without assistance. Move quickly in response to emergencies.
- The Lifeguard will work primarily outdoors at the resort's pool areas. The role may require working during weekends, holidays, and varying shifts based on guest activity levels.
