The Licensed Medical Technologist – QA and Training is responsible for ensuring laboratory quality assurance and compliance with regulatory standards while developing and implementing training programs for laboratory personnel. This role supports continuous improvement in testing accuracy, reliability, and safety, ensuring that all laboratory processes meet internal and external quality benchmarks.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Develop, implement, and monitor laboratory quality assurance programs in compliance with DOH, and other relevant standards.
- Conduct training for new and existing laboratory staff on procedures, equipment use, and quality standards. Assess staff competencies regularly and provide refresher courses to maintain technical proficiency.
- Collaborate with management to identify training needs and career development opportunities for laboratory staff.
- Ensure laboratory operations adhere to health, safety, and environmental regulations.
- Stay updated on regulatory changes and implement necessary updates in laboratory practices. Maintain records and prepare reports for accreditation and inspections.
- Conduct regular internal audits, proficiency testing, and performance evaluations of laboratory procedures.
- Review, update, and maintain Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), ensuring proper documentation control. Investigate non-conformities, incidents, and complaints, and recommend corrective and preventive actions.
- Monitor equipment calibration, validation, and maintenance schedules to ensure accurate and reliable test results.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- A licensed Medical Technologist with a degree in Medical Technology and 2 to 3 years of professional experience.
- Knowledge of laboratory accreditation standards (DOH, ISO 15189, CAP, CLIA, etc.).
- Completion of relevant trainings is an advantage, such as: Internal accreditation standards, Clinical Laboratory technical proficiency, Basic Life Support (BLS), Safety Skills Essentials (SSE) and Hazard Identification, Risk Assessment, and Control Measures (HIRA).
- Amenable to work in Malolos Bulacan.
