CSS Technician

Job Description:

• Receive, collect, and inspect used instruments, sets, medical-surgical supplies, equipment, and machines.
• Disinfect, clean, and dry equipment, machines, and instruments to prepare them for sterilization.
• Assemble complex instrument sets, dressing kits, and treatment trays.
• Package and wrap surgical instruments and supplies in accordance with prescribed sterilization processes.
• Produce, repackage, seal, and label supplies, kits, and solutions for sterilization as required.
• Receive and inspect repackaged or unwrapped instruments and supplies prior to sterilization.
• Operate and maintain sterilizers and processing equipment, ensuring compliance with prescribed standards.
• Monitor gauges and parameters to detect malfunctions and ensure proper operation.
• Store sterilized items according to established protocols, ensuring sanitation and orderliness of storage rooms.
• Maintain and distribute instruments and supplies to all hospital units, out-patients, and the MAB Out-patient Pharmacy.
• Replenish medical-surgical supplies at the dispensing area (for Stockroom staff).
• Order medical-surgical supplies and production materials (for Stockroom staff).
• Maintain accurate records of items processed, number of packages, loads, and sterilization cycles.
• Support quality assurance monitoring in decontamination, packaging, sterilization, and production areas.
• Perform daily monitoring and cleaning of machines.
• Deliver CSS linen to the Linen and Laundry Department for washing and decontamination.
• Attend seminars and workshops as scheduled by the Department Manager or Training Development and Education Department.
• Actively participate in organization-wide activities and taskforces aligned with the corporate Vision, Mission, and Values.
• Perform other related tasks as assigned by the Immediate Superior, Department Manager and/or Director of Supply Chain Management, consistent with the duties and responsibilities of the position.

Job Qualifications:

• A college degree, or at least 2nd year college, is preferred. Underboard in allied medical courses is an advantage
• Preferably with experience in decontamination and sterilization processes, knowledge of aseptic techniques, and potentially a certification as a CSS Technician
• Willing to undergo training; shifting schedule
• Two (2) Full-time positions available
• Can start ASAP
